Before installing your hardwood
Prior to your hardwood installation, you will need to remove all furniture, clear all the closets, and remove all items off the wall. Since hardwood cannot be installed over other flooring types, the old flooring will need to be removed completely and disposed of. Hardwood requires an even subfloor so if there are any even subfloor imperfections, these will need to be addressed before installation. The actual hardwood planks will need to acclimate in the room for 2-3 days before installation. We recommend that you also designate a work area in the home for the installation crew to keep tools, saws, and be able to trim planks as needed. Also, it’s wise to complete all new painting in the room before your hardwood installation!

During hardwood installation, you will need to be home to answer any questions or considerations that come up from your installation team. Also, this is your chance to ask any questions you may have! Due to the presence of saws, nail guns, sanders, and other tools, as well as the cutting of planks to fit your room precisely, you will need to keep children and pets away from the installation process. Keep the installation area ventilated during the process and get ready for your new hardwood floors!
